Lighter-than-Air Day in Stuttgart

Yesterday, we had the wonderful opportunity to demonstrate our looncraft to the public as part of the Lighter-than-Air Day, organized by the Initiative Leichter als Luft e.V.

Two other fascinating and completely different use cases for LTA technology were also featured:

🦓 🐾 Dr. Eric Price from Flight Robotics and Perception Group presented his work on airship drones for wildlife monitoring.

🎈🏗️ Samuel Zimmerman from Humanitarian Logistics Organisation e. V. (humanilog) presented a high-payload balloon for disaster relief.

Looking back at the events we have participated in, there are quite a few non-profit organizations pushing lighter-than-air technology forward in different ways:

• The Initiative Leichter als Luft e.V. has moved past the Cargolifter insolvency affairs and is eager to focus on supporting the future of LTA.

• The Airship Association Association brings together a wide variety of stakeholders at its conferences and reports on new developments in its newsletters and quarterly journal.

• IMIEU (Institute for Infrastructure, Environment and Innovation) U-LTA is especially active in raising awareness among EU regulatory bodies regarding the revival of LTA technology.

• Aerarium Luftschifftechnik e.V. is educating young talent about airships, most notably by organizing the annual F7B Open International airship races in Friedrichshafen.

Perhaps there are even other LTA-oriented non-profit organizations in the world that we just haven’t heard of yet?

How about forming an umbrella organization to foster synergies between all these wonderful efforts and organizations? Together, we could certainly achieve even more.
